Sanjeevan, an initiative of Deepstambh, a multi-purpose non-governmental organisation headquartered in Jalgaon, is aimed at the welfare of orphan students, enabling them to lead dignified and productive lives.
Among the children who are orphaned at birth or at an early age, several do not have the guardianship necessary for their upbringing. These children, who lack emotional as well as financial support, are either enrolled in government or privately managed orphanages for accommodation and education. However, in accordance with law, past 18 years of age they need to secure their own residence and means of livelihood. The absence of right counselling, skill-sets, financial resources and emotional support, in many cases, leads to students losing their way at this crucial juncture. Their potential is not recognized, and their struggle for a promising future intensifies.
Sanjeevan, an initiative of Deepstambh, a multi-purpose non-governmental organisation headquartered in Jalgaon, is aimed at the welfare of these students, enabling them to lead dignified and productive lives. Under this programme, 50 orphaned boys and girls are selected to be provided with free residential training for competitive exams and skill development, admission into the Armed Forces and IPS, along with security services, hospital management and shop assistant training.
The students’ requirements, potential and aptitude are duly considered when their training programme is selected. Also, every student is fostered by a family, which offers to take his/her responsibility. Empowered with the much-needed emotional support of family life and the education to forge their future, they get the opportunity to develop themselves and become successful yet responsible citizens.
